Yes , you are right. I do not work like this any more. I have always worked with charcoal....but the way I work have changed. This is a sketch I did many years ago. IN my scraps you can find a lot of pieces of this kind. Then, after having an excellent teacher called Racioppi (JUlio Raqcioppi, whose artwork you can see in latinarte) I began to draw as if I were paiting, by studying the tones and not doing a lineal drawing like this one.

I have seen that almost nobody likes to watch "scraps" . And, on the contrary, I always see if the person has scraps and I check them up. You can see how the artist create, thinks and even all the imagination is usually there and free, without the desire of doing " art ".
